I need help finding a good food for my dog?
My bichon frise has skin problems, most likely due to allergies. What is a good quality dog food that I can feed him? I am looking for something that also has probiotics and lots of vitamins for healthy skin but if that is too much to ask what kind of supplements should I give him and where do I find them?
What about Wellness Simple Solutions Rice and Salmon Dry Dog Food? Along with PETCO Allergy Tablets?

Please do not tell me to get vet food. I have done that. I actually want to switch vets because all he did was drug my dog and give me poor quality food. Needless to say, it did not help at all.
It is hard to recomend a certain type of dog food brand if we don’t know your dog’s allergen problems.
Avoid dog food that are filled with unnatural products such as corn, lots of wheat or grain, less meat, by-products, BHT/BHA, and other unnatrual perservatives. Some brands include Eukanuba, Iams, PPedigree, Purina, Kibbnles ‘n’ Bits, Cesar, Ol’Roy, Science Diet…etc. Before you buy anything check the ingredient list. The first few ingredients should be meat, meat, and meat! For example, Wellness’s first 3 ingredients include chicken, turkey, and salmon. Here are a few healthy and nutritous dog food brands. Blue Buffalo, Wellness, Innova, Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul, Solid Gold, Merrick, Califonia Natural,…etc.
As you can obviously guess, these healthy brands are a tad more expensive than the usual commercial brands. However, for Iams, an average adult dog may need 1 1/2- 1 3/4 cups a day. For Wellness, they will neeed around 3/4 – 1 cup per day. By using more nutrients from Wellness, your dog will absorb more nutrition and deposit less in waste, maybe now only pooping 2 times a day, instead of 3 or 4. In that way, your dog eats less to gain his neccessary protein, and actually save you money.
